EDM Machining
EDM Services
When a metal surface is too hard for conventional machining, Innovative Manufacturing and Design turns to one of our electronic discharge machines. Our EDM services are an effective way to machine using electricity rather than a tool to remove metal. This process can yield very tight tolerances from .0005” to .0002” which we can deliver every time.
Our EDM capabilities include:
- Wire EDM up to 15 inches in Z-Height
- RAM or Sinker EDM
- 5-Axis Holepopper
The Highest Quality EDM
Innovative Manufacturing and Design dedicates to the continuous improvement of our processes, so we remain the standard in EDM services. When you work with us, we guarantee state-of-the-art innovation, unsurpassed execution, and the highest level of precision in the industry!
Why Choose Innovative Manufacturing and Design for EDM?

FAQs
Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) is an electrothermal production process used to cut through metal using heat from electrical currents. Wire EDM is also known as wire cut EDM, spark machining, spark eroding, EDM cutting, wire cutting, wire burning and wire erosion.
The sinker EDM machining (Electrical Discharge Machining) method uses an electrically charged electrode that is configured to a specific geometry to burn the geometry of the electrode into a metal component. The sinker EDM process is commonly used in the production of dies and molds.
Ram electrical discharge machining (EDM), also known as die sinking, uses an electrode typically pre-machined to a specified shape from graphite or copper that is sunk into a workpiece submerged in a dielectric fluid, leaving a negative imprint.
